Today, we presented the final KIPS and our results to Prof. Miyazaki, Prof. Amaya and the cohort taking the Masters group project at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. We explained the operation of the device and the need for it in the field of injury prevention. The group was pleased how the project turned out as it seem to be a demanding task when we started out in September.
From the beginning of the project, the group were unsure with the full extent of the work to be completed. However, Biomotion Technologies have succeeded in providing our client a Real-time monitoring system of Knee Mechanics for injury prevention. There were many early mornings and short weekends, each individual’s contribution helped develop and drive the project until the very end.
Thank you to all the research post graduates in the Amaya Lab for involving us and making us all feel welcome. The assistance when we were experiencing cultural difficulties shown the welcoming culture Japan has to offer. The work continues though, the foot can’t come of the gas quite yet! The work completed by everyone in Biomotion Technologies requires further assessments. The TITech students are required to document and submit the groups finding in order to obtain the class credit. The Strathclyde students, upon returning back to Glasgow, will present the project findings and experiences in an oral assessment.
Our thanks again go to Prof. Miyazaki for his guidance, Prof. Amaya for the organisation of the exchange and the Amaya Lab for their hospitality and friendship.
It has been an opportunity of a lifetime. Sayonara, Tokyo.
