One of the aims our project is to create an awareness of the concept we are developing and provide insight into the exchange program we are a part of.
We developed this website to promote the project and try to represent the group as a company. To get the best result from the website development, it was quickly realised that using one method isn’t as strong or as interesting as multiple.
Interestingly, for a consumer point of view, people rarely interact within unknown companies on social media unless it has a personal appeal. To reach a greater audience it is known that if a company have established a varied media presence then the consumer subliminally concludes that it is popular and people like it. This assumption creates the personal appeal which ultimately attracts interest.
To build on this idea, the website is now linked to both a Facebook and Twitter page where regular updates are self-promoted without the need to spend money on marketing.
Trying to diversify our social media presence we have also used QR code, something not popular back home in the UK, although used to some extent, but is a huge marketing tool in Japan!
