OpenSim Analysis

The analysis of the motion capture was finally completed today using the OpenSim software system. A new model was adapted from 92 degree of freedom model designed by Delp et al. by adding code that allowed the software to calculate the moments around the knee in all three planes.

For the case of running at approximately 4 m/s, the knee adduction in both knee were calculated and converted into graphical form as shown below. It can be seen that the values are within a reasonable range but a bit higher than expected. It is though that a further study with better placement of markers will lead to more accurate results.
